Our Children

& Shared Values

At Northwest Childcare, every child is valued as an individual with their own unique needs, interests, and potential. From the moment they arrive, we work to build trusting relationships that form the foundation for positive growth and development.

"We strive to care for and guide all children and young people through the difficulties of life in a loving, caring and respectful home to help them realise their full potential."

Upon arrival at any of our homes, every child is allocated a dedicated key worker. This relationship becomes the foundation of trust between the child and our staff team. We take great care in matching key workers to children, considering:

  • Shared interests and hobbies
  • Relevant experience with the child's specific needs
  • Personality compatibility
  • Cultural and linguistic considerations where appropriate
  • Key worker responsibilities
  • Our key workers provide comprehensive support including:
  • Basic needs management: Toiletries, room personalisation, and clothing
  • Advocacy: Acting as the child's voice and champion
  • Individual development: Supporting interests, identity formation, and understanding
  • Daily guidance: Helping navigate challenges and celebrate achievements
