About Northwest Childcare

Northwest Childcare is a privately owned company dedicated to providing exceptional residential care for children and young people in the Northwest of England. With our head offices in Burnley, Lancashire, we have built a reputation for creating nurturing environments where children can thrive.

"Residential care can be a positive choice and experience at an important stage in children's lives. This can be achieved by helping children and their families or carers to address issues and to be solution-focused."

Our Approach

We carefully match children being admitted into our homes, considering their age and individual needs. We can offer a place for up to two children of mixed gender at any one time, ensuring compatibility and creating harmonious living environments.

Our homes feature visual prompts throughout, used in all aspects of daily life to describe activities, menus, and organisational aspects. We also provide sensory-oriented environments with specialised items to support children who require additional sensory support.

Cultural & Religious Respect

Northwest Childcare works with families to facilitate religious observations, including attendance at weekly services, for children who wish to follow their religious beliefs. We respect dietary requirements and promote religious rituals that children wish to participate in, provided there is no significant risk of harm.

We encourage children to explore multicultural experiences, helping them understand and appreciate diversity through different foods, festivals, films and books from various cultures.

We maintain the highest standards of care and are committed to transparency. Full details of our standards can be found within the Statement of Purpose and Ofsted Report for each home, downloadable from individual property pages on our website.
