First Class Training

Once you have joined our amazing team at Northwest Child Care, you will receive a thorough induction and training package, which will include ongoing developmental opportunities to meet our high standards of care.
Before commencing employment with us, every new employee must complete the following mandatory training:
 

  • PRICE - Physical Intervention and De-escalation Training.
  • PBS – Positive Behaviour Support
  • Self-Harm 
  • Attachment and Child Development
  • Food Hygiene
  • Health and Safety
  • Safeguarding (including FGM, CCE & CSE)
  • Ligature Training
  • Fire Safety Awareness
  • Administration of Medication
  • COSHH
  • Recording and Reporting

  • Infection Control
  • Nutrition and Diet
  • Risk Assessments
  • Bullying
  • Complaints
  • First Aid
     

Getting Started…

You will complete a six-month probationary period, during which time you have the chance to undergo more training while immersing yourself in our policies and procedures. This ensures that you understand the ethos behind the standard of care we deliver.

Probation passed, you will continue to receive supportive supervision along with regular reviews with members of the senior care team who will always be there to offer you any additional support or guidance you may need.

Then it’s your chance to go above and beyond by completing further training in a range of subjects:

  • Safeguarding 
  • Level 4 Workforce Diploma in Residential Care
  • Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management (Senior Roles)
  • Supervision and Appraisal (Senior Roles)
  • Self-Harm
  • Mental Health Issues
  • Drug and Addiction
  • Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Radicalisation
  • Health and Safety
  • Outdoor education

As your skills and competencies and confidence grows, we will be happy to give you extra responsibilities – which are paid allowances - in the right areas and the chance to take on a more senior role in the company.
