Education packages

We will be happy to tailor education packages to the needs of children and young people. This can vary greatly from attending main stream schools, academies or special educational schools. We can also support a level of inhouse education such as Outdoor education, AQA and ASDAN awards schemes.

We also have good links with local tradesmen and business to support vocational skills placements and or apprenticeships. All of this will be assessed and tailored in agreement with any child or young person residing with us.

School and Education

We will always support children and young people in School and Education. Key Workers and the Manager will attend all School meetings and Parent’s evening to enable us to fully support education.

Education is essential in achieving life goals; here at Ireleth House we are eager for all to succeed in every aspect socially emotionally and educationally!

We will encourage children and young people to reach their full potential. We will work in ways that aim to help children and young people to achieve their hopes and ambitions and to develop their abilities in their daily lives. We believe that children and young people should be encouraged to make the most of opportunities for education, leisure, employment and the promotion of their health. We have a commitment to help children and young people to have the best possible start in life by continuity of school placement if out of area. However, if excluded or the preference is for a local school, a placement will be sought within mainstream or specialist resource in order to effect positive educational outcomes.

Independence skills

We have a commitment to providing equal opportunities for children and young people to act and think independently, whilst having particular regard to helping children and young people to keep safe. Wherever possible we aim to help and support children and young people to return to live with their families on either a full-time or on a shared care basis. To achieve this we provide family work, in which communication, negotiation, mediation and support are vital aspects of helping to build bridges with children and young people and their families. In situations where a return home is not possible or desirable, we will provide longer-term care for children and young people until they are ready to move on to live with another family, to live independently with support, or with strong company links to Northwest Leaving care services, to move into supported housing.
